How to access the BREEAM API
What is the BREEAM API?
We are opening our RESTful API web service to allow you to search and access up-to-date BREEAM GreenBook listing information in a machine-readable format and explore BREEAM ratings data from around the globe.
The data available through the BREEAM API enables you to access information on certified assessments.
Please note, the data available through the API only includes certified assessments of projects or assets under the BREEAM, HQM and BREEAM Infrastructure (formerly CEEQUAL) schemes, and does not contain data on certified assessments of projects against the Code for Sustainable Homes or BREEAM Ecohomes schemes. Furthermore, this service only contains data on assessments which were certified against the BREEAM 2008 scheme onwards. Projects or assets with certified assessments to schemes released prior to this are not included.
How to get started
1. Contact us via for an API key
Get in touch at breeam@bre.co.uk to request an API key. By doing this you agree to the terms and conditions below.
2. Read the documentation
Have a look at the current BREEAM API documentation to understand how it works.
3. Spread the word
Make something great, and tweet about it using the hashtag #BREEAMAPI. Help us spread the word by acknowledging us in any tools you use with ‘We use the BREEAM API’.
